Novartis Earnings Get a Boost From Sales of Its Key Drugs


Novartis said earnings and sales rose in the first quarter of the year, boosted by its key drugs, including heart failure treatment Entresto.

Net income was $2.2 billion, up from $1.8 billion in the same quarter the previous year, on sales that grew to $12.53 billion from $12.41 billion. Analysts expected sales of $12.62 billion.
